Sodium nitrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaNO3. It is a hygroscopic, colorless and transparent trigonal crystal. Decomposes when heated to 380℃. It is highly soluble in water and liquid ammonia, soluble in methanol, slightly soluble slightly soluble in glycerol. When dissolved in water, it absorbs heat, the solution cools down, and the aqueous solution is neutral. It is used for the production of nitric acid and sodium nitrite, as an ingredient in the glass, match, enamel or ceramic industries, as a fertilizer, and as a catalyst in the sulfuric acid production industry, etc.

Precautions for operation: Conduct operations in a closed system, enhance ventilation, and operators must be specially trained and strictly follow operating procedures. Keep away from sources of ignition and heat. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Stay away from flammable and combustible materials. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with reducing agents, active metal powders and acids. Handle with care during transportation to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equip with corresponding types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency handling devices. Empty containers may still contain harmful substances.
Storage precautions Store in a cool and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 30℃ and the relative humidity should not exceed 80%. It should be stored separately from reducing agents, active metal powders, acids, flammable materials, etc. Mixed storage is strictly prohibited. The storage area should be equipped with appropriate materials to contain spills.
