Sodium sulfate is a white orthogonal bipyramidal crystal or crystalline powder. It has a bitter and salty taste and is odorless. Its melting point is about 800°C. It is hygroscopic and easily absorbs three molecules of water in humid air. It is soluble in water and glycerol. Its aqueous solution is neutral.
