1. P Toluenesulfonic Acid is widely used in dyes, pigments, fluorescent whitening agents, fungicides, flame retardants and organic synthesis.

1. It is moderately toxic. Irritates the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Rat transoral LD50 2480mg/kg, mouse transoral LD50 400mg/kg. Its sodium salt is non-toxic.
