Ferric Chloride Powder 25KG/BAG Used As Oxidant and Mordant In Dye Industry For Industrial Grade
Nature:
Ferric Chloride is balck crystal, belonging to the hexagonal crystal system. Melting point is 300℃; Boiling point is 316℃. Its vapor is a dimer of ferric chloride at 400 °C. At 750℃ it is ferric chloride molecule. Garnet red in transmitted light and metallic green in reflected light. Strong hygroscopic, easy to delix in air, can generate 6 hydrate.
Production:
Ferric Chloride can be produced by direct reaction of iron and chlorine gas to ferric chloride vapor, which can be condensed to obtain the finished product. There is a small amount of unreacted chlorine gas and ferric chloride in the tail gas of the reaction. The liquid ferric chloride can be obtained by absorbing the chlorine gas with ferrous chloride solution.
usage:
Used as oxidan and mordant in dye industry, catalyst and oxidant in organic synthesis industry. It is also a caustic for photographic and printing platemaking, and a raw material for the manufacture of other iron salts, pigments, inks, and medicines. It can also be used as polycondensation agent of free radical polymerization, polymerization inhibitor and chlorination of silver and copper. Adding its solution to building concrete can increase the strength of buildings, resist corrosion and prevent water seepage. It is also used for drinking water and wastewater treatment.
