Sodium nitrite is an inorganic salt formed by the ionization and ionization of nitrite ions and sodium. It is white to light yellow granular, rod or powder. Hygroscopic. Heated to above 320 ℃ to decompose. It is slowly oxidized to sodium nitrate in the air. In case of weak acid, it will release brown nitrogen trioxide gas. Soluble in 1.5 parts of cold water, 0.6 parts of boiling water, slightly soluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is alkaline, with a pH of about 9.
