21% Sulphate Ammonium Granular Fertilizer Ammonium Sulphate For The Growth Of Plant Stems And Leaves
Ammonium sulfate is colorless crystals or translucent orthorhombic crystals or white particles. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and acetone. When heated to 28 ° C, it decomposes into ammonia and sulfuric acid. The relative density is 1.77. The pH value of 0.1mol/L aqueous solution is 5.5. Reacts with sodium hypochlorite to generate explosive nitrogen trichloride. It is decomposed by high heat and emits toxic fumes. The solubility in water is (g/loog H20): 70.6 (0°C); 76.7 (25°C); 103.8 (100°C). This product is non-flammable and irritating.
Before the 1960s, it was the main variety of nitrogen fertilizer and one of the main sources of nutrient element sulfur for crops. Ammonium sulfate contains 21% N, 24% S. It is white or slightly yellow crystal, with low hygroscopicity, no caking, and good chemical stability.

Ammonium sulfate is a quick-acting fertilizer, used for general crops, and can be used as top dressing, base fertilizer, and seed fertilizer, especially in areas where the soil is deficient in sulfur. However, for acidic soils, it must be applied in combination with lime (not mixed). In addition, it can also be used in explosives, fabric fire retardants, salting out process of pharmaceutical production, catalyst for food sauce color, yeast culture, dyeing auxiliaries for acid dyeing and deliming agent for leather, etc.
Remarks: Ammonium sulfate is applied on neutral and calcareous soils, which can easily cause soil hardening. Long-term application of ammonium sulfate increases soil acidity.
