Introduction

 

Anhydrous ferric chloride is a covalent compound. Also known as iron trichloride, its chemical formula is FeCl3, and it is a black powder. Melting point is 307.6°C, boiling point is 316°C. It is easily soluble in water and has strong water absorption. It can absorb moisture in the air and deliquescence. It is made by hexahydrate ferric chloride losing six crystal water. Application
