Introduction

Ferric Chloride has strong humidity absorbability, and can produce its dihydrate and hexahydrate. Easy soluble in water, ethanol,acetone, also in liquid sulfur dioxide, ethylamine, aniline; but insoluble in glycerol, or phosphorus trichloride. Its aqueous solution is acidic.

Iron(III) chloride occurs naturally as the mineral molysite. The compound is widely used to prepare a number of iron(III) salts. Also, it is applied in sewage and industrial waste treatment processes.
