Ammonium sulfate is a white single crystal with a density of 1.98. It is completely decomposed at 120°C. When completely dry, it can be stored for a long time without decomposing, and it is not easy to absorb moisture, but it gradually decomposes and releases oxygen and ozone after moisture absorption. Soluble in water and decomposed by heating. It has strong oxidizing properties and can be used as chemical reagents, oxidizing agents, bleaching agents, deodorizing agents, and monomer polymerization initiators. It also has the advantages of convenience and safety.
Ammonium sulfate is a non-flammable product, but because it can release oxygen, it has a combustion-supporting effect. When storing, it must be stored in a dry and airtight container, avoid direct sunlight, and keep away from heat sources. Do not contact with reducing substances such as organic matter, rust, and a small amount of metal to prevent the decomposition and explosion of ammonium persulfate. Since wet ammonium persulfate powder and its aqueous solution have bleaching and slight corrosive effects, direct contact with eyes, skin and clothing should be avoided during use.
