Calcium Chloride Dihydrate 74% Industrial Grade Calcium Chloride Flakes As Refrigerant
Calcium chloride dihydrate is a colorless cubic crystal. There are many shapes, mainly white or off-white, with granular, spherical, irregular granular, and powdery shapes. Non-toxic, odorless, slightly bitter taste.
Calcium chloride dihydrate precipitates calcium chloride hexahydrate crystals from the aqueous solution at room temperature, which becomes dihydrate when heated to 200°C, and becomes white porous anhydrous calcium chloride when heated to 260°C. It is extremely hygroscopic and easily deliquescent when exposed to the air. It is prepared by heating calcium chloride dihydrate to 260°C for drying and dehydration. It can be prepared by using refined neutral calcium chloride solution from which arsenic and heavy metals have been removed, sprayed into mist through a nozzle, and countercurrently contacted with a hot air stream at 300°C to achieve drying and dehydration. Used as a desiccant for gas, as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and acrylic resins.

Calcium chloride dihydrate is used as a refrigerant, antifreeze, fire extinguishing agent, used for melting ice and snow, making anhydrous calcium chloride, flame retardant for cotton fabrics, and coagulant for rubber production. It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of construction mortar. It is also used as an anti-fogging agent in ports and a dust collector on roads. From industrial grade calcium chloride dihydrate saturated solution, adding decolorizing agent, removing heavy metal agent, removing arsenic agent for solution purification, filtering to remove impurities, filtrate cooling and crystallization, solid-liquid separation, and drying can be used to prepare food-grade products. Used as a coagulant for canned food and soy products, and a calcium fortifier.
