Dihydrate Calcium Chloride is white crystalline particles or lumps, bitter and astringent, strong deliquescent. The density is 1.835. Easily soluble in water, soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether, and its aqueous solution is neutral or slightly alkaline. When heated to 260°C, dehydration becomes anhydrous.
