Anhydrous calcium chloride, slightly toxic, odorless, and slightly bitter in taste. It is extremely hygroscopic and easily deliquescent when exposed to the air. It is easily soluble in water, and the solubility is 74.5 g/100g water at 20°C. At the same time, it emits a lot of heat (the dissolution enthalpy of calcium chloride is -176.2cal/g), and its aqueous solution is slightly acidic.
