Physicochemical properties: Colorless crystals, general commercial products are white, off-white or slightly yellow crystals, bitter and astringent, strong deliquescence. Soluble in water, its aqueous solution is neutral or slightly alkaline, corrosive. Soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether. When heated to 260°C, it dehydrates and becomes anhydrous.
