Ferric Chloride, is a covalent inorganic compound, an acidic corrosive product, with the chemical formula FeCl3. It is a black-brown crystalline powder or flake, easily soluble in water and has strong water absorption, can absorb moisture in the air and deliquesce, insoluble in glycerin, and easily soluble in methanol, ethanol, acet one, and e ther. Ferric chloride is a very significat iron salt.
The application of Ferric Chloride:
1. Used for metal etching (etching of materials such as copper, stainless steel, aluminum, such as eyeglass frames, clocks, electronic components, signs, nameplates, etc.).
2. used in the construction industry to prepare concrete to enhance the strength, corrosion resistance and waterproofness of concrete.
3. It can be prepared with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, hydrochloric acid, etc. to form a waterproofing agent for concrete.
4. The inorganic industry uses it as a raw material for making other iron salts and inks.
5. Used as catalyst, oxidant and chlorinating agent in organic industry.
6. In the dye industry, it is used as an oxidant in the dyeing of yindicot dyes.
7. In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used as an oxidant and mordant in indigo dyeing.
8. In the metallurgical industry, it is used as a chlorination agent for extracting gold and silver.
9. In the soap making industry, it is used as a coagulant to recover glycerin from soap waste liquid.

11. Used as analytical reagent and thin layer chromatography developer.

Transportation Matters:
Railway transportation should be carried out in strict accordance with the dangerous goods loading table in the "Dangerous Goods Transportation Rules" of the Ministry of Railways. The packaging should be complete and the loading should be safe at the time of shipment. During transportation, ensure that the container does not leak, collapse, fall or be damaged. It is strictly forbidden to mix and transport with oxidants, active metal powders, edible chemicals, etc. During transportation, the transport vehicle should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment. During transportation, it should be protected from exposure to sunlight, rain and high temperature.
Storage Matters:
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Package tightly. Store separately from oxidants, active metal powders, etc. and avoid mixing. The storage area should be equipped wrespiratorsith appropriate materials to contain leaks.
Operation matters:
Closed operation, local exhaust. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear hood-type electric air supply filter dust respirator, wear rubber anti-toxic clothing, and wear rubber gloves. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with oxidants and active metal powders. Load and unload gently during transportation to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equip with leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may have harmful residues.
