Mitsui Chemicals Established a Coating Technology Center in India!
On March 13, Mitsui Chemicals India Private Limited (MCIND), a subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals, set up a Coatings Technology Center (CTC) in Gurgaon, Haryana, with the aim of strengthening its technical service function in the coatings and functional materials business. The company inaugurated the new plant on February 18, 2025.
The CTC was established to provide technical support to respond quickly and accurately to customer needs in the Indian market, as demand for sustainable packaging materials continues to grow in response to growing environmental concerns and increased government regulation, particularly progress in reducing the use of single-use plastics and adopting alternative materials.
The plant will be equipped with coaters and analytical equipment capable of accommodating a variety of coating methods (gravure, reverse gravure, air knife, etc.), thus enabling product testing and evaluation to be conducted in India without the need to bring products to Japan for testing and evaluation. Not only will it be able to quickly resolve customer problems, but it will also support customers' product development by researching and developing the latest coating technologies and providing them with technical guidance on how to master our products. The CTC will also support our customer's product development by researching and developing the latest coating technologies and providing technical guidance on how to master our products.
With the establishment of the CTC, MCIND will transform itself from a raw material supplier to a solution provider, contributing to solving social problems in India. In addition, Mitsui Chemicals plans to further strengthen its business in India, the center of the southern hemisphere, and enhance its technical services in regions such as the Middle East and Africa by expanding functions, developing new products, and establishing a research center.
