Crystal India Acquires Bayer’s Herbicide Products
Recently, India's Crystal Crop Protection Limited announced that it has completed the acquisition of the rights and interests of the active ingredient ethoxysulfuron from Bayer, covering the sales rights in several Asian countries. This acquisition is one of Crystal's largest transactions in history.
The deal includes not only the well-known trademark “Sunrice” for ethoxysulfuron but also the related mixing products and all the registration credentials. Ethoxysulfuron, known for its effectiveness in controlling broadleaf weeds and sedge in rice and cereals, is an important addition to Crystal's portfolio. By localizing production in India, the product will significantly reduce costs while providing a more cost-effective and sustainable solution for farmers in India and South and Southeast Asia.
Ankur Aggarwal, Managing Director, Crystal Crop Protection Limited, said, “This acquisition exemplifies our commitment to strengthening our product portfolio and working towards providing farmers with truly life-changing solutions. With this transaction, we further provide farmers with advanced weed management solutions. Leveraging our strong distribution network and manufacturing capabilities, we will ensure efficient coverage of these solutions across India and South and South East Asia.”
