Ferric chloride anhydrous is a covalent compound. Also known as ferric chloride, the chemical formula is FeCl3, and it is a black powder. The melting point is 307.6℃, and the boiling point is 316℃. It is easily soluble in water and has strong water absorption. It can absorb moisture in the air and deliquescence. It is obtained by losing six crystal waters of ferric trichloride hexahydrate. Organic synthesis catalyst.
The main uses of anhydrous ferric chloride are as follows:
1. The water treatment industry is used as a water purification agent for drinking water; wastewater treatment purification and precipitation agent.
2. In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used as an oxidant and a printing and dyeing mordant for indigo dyeing.
3. The organic synthesis of dichloroethane industry is used as a catalyst for production.
4. Raw materials for the manufacture of iron salts such as iron phosphate, medicines, pigments and inks.
5. Etchant for photographic and printing plate making; used as analytical reagent and color developer for thin layers.
6. It is used in the production of circuit boards and fluorescent digital tubes in the electronic industry.
7. After infiltration into building concrete, it can increase the strength of the building, resist corrosion and prevent water seepage.
8. Coagulant used in the recovery of glycerol from the waste liquid of soap production.
9. A brine refined preparation for chlor-alkali enterprises.
