Sodium Chloride Formula NaCl Commonly Known as Edible Salt
Industrial salt is a common inorganic salt known chemically as sodium chloride (NaCl). Its properties are very stable, colorless and odorless. Industrial salt has good solubility in water and can quickly dissolve into salt solution. Industrial salt has a wide range of uses. Industrial salts are used in the pharmaceutical industry as raw materials and auxiliary substances in preparations. It is also used in pulp and paper making, leather processing, electroplating, metallurgy, glass manufacturing and other industrial fields. It is also widely used as a reagent in chemistry laboratories.

1. Machinery Industry
At high temperatures, sodium chloride promotes the softening of the casting core, thereby preventing the occurrence of hot cracks in the casting. It can be used as an excellent binder for non-ferrous metals and alloy-casting medium sand.
2. Metallurgical industry
Industrial salt can also be used as a desulfurizer and clarifier for the treatment of metal ores. In the metallurgical industry, sodium chloride can be used as a chlorinating roasting agent and quenching agent. It is needed in the pickling of strip steel and stainless steel, as a roasting aid in aluminum smelting, electrolysis, and refractory materials in smelting. Steel products and The steel rolled products are immersed in a salt solution to harden the surface and remove the oxide film.
3. Petroleum industry
When refining petroleum, industrial salt can be used as a dehydrating agent to remove water mist in gasoline, which can increase the weight of drilling mud and act as a regulator. It can be used as an ash modifier to be added to fuel oil to prevent high-temperature corrosion of vanadium compounding, and to remove impurities in it with salt as a filter layer. In the process of oil well drilling, it can be used as a stabilizer in the mud to protect the integrity of the rock salt formation core.
4. Chemical industry
Sodium chloride is an important raw material for caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, chlorine, ammonium chloride, and soda ash.
5. Building materials industry
Alkali, the main raw material for glass production, is smelted from industrial salt. Sodium chloride is also required for the glaze on stoneware, ceramic tiles and urns. A clarifying agent that eliminates bubbles in the glass is added when melting glass. Made with raw materials such as sodium chloride.
6. Dye industry
The commonly used raw materials in the dye industry are directly produced from industrial salt, and hydrochloric acid and other chemical products are also made through deep processing. Almost every step in the dye production process requires salt.
7. Industrial salt also has a wide range of uses in water treatment, snow melting agent, refrigeration and cold storage.
