Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a linear polymer with the chemical formula (C3H5NO)n. It is a hard glassy solid at room temperature. The products include glue, latex and white powder, translucent beads and flakes. Good thermal stability. It can be dissolved in water in any proportion, and the aqueous solution is a uniform and transparent liquid. After long-term storage, the viscosity of the solution will decrease due to the slow degradation of the polymer, especially when the storage and transportation conditions are poor. Polyacrylamide is used as a lubricant, suspending agent, clay stabilizer, oil-displacing agent, fluid loss agent and thickening agent, and is used in drilling, acidification, fracturing, water plugging, cementing, secondary oil recovery, and tertiary oil recovery. Widely used, it is an extremely important oil field chemical.

1. Cationic polyacrylamide:

  • Sludge dewatering: According to the nature of the sewage, the corresponding grade of this product can be selected, which can effectively dewater the sludge by gravity before the sludge enters the filter press. During dehydration, the flocs are large, the filter cloth is not sticky, and it does not flow during the filter press. The amount is small, the dehydration efficiency is high, and the moisture content of the mud cake is below 80%.
  • Sewage and organic wastewater treatment: This product is positive in acid or alkaline media, so that it can flocculate and precipitate the negatively charged sewage with suspended particles in the sewage, and the clarification is extremely effective, such as alcohol factory wastewater, brewery wastewater , MSG factory wastewater, sugar factory wastewater, meat food factory wastewater, beverage factory wastewater, textile printing and dyeing factory wastewater, etc., the effect of using cationic polyacrylamide is higher than using anionic polyacrylamide, non-ionic polyacrylamide or inorganic salts. Several times or dozens of times, because this type of wastewater generally has negative charges.
  • Flocculant for water treatment in water plants: This product has the characteristics of low dosage, good effect, low cost, etc., farewell to the use of inorganic flocculants for better effect.
  • Oilfield chemicals: such as clay anti-swelling agent, thickening agent for oilfield acidification, etc.
  • Paper-making aids: cationic PAM paper enhancer is a water-soluble cationic polymer containing carbamoyl groups, which has the functions of strengthening, retention and drainage, and can effectively improve the strength of paper. At the same time, the product is also a high-efficiency dispersant.


2. Anionic polyacrylamide:

  • Industrial wastewater treatment: For the sewage treatment of suspended particles, relatively high concentration, positively charged particles, neutral or alkaline pH of the water, wastewater from iron and steel plants, wastewater from electroplating plants, metallurgical wastewater, coal washing wastewater, etc., the effect the best.
  • Drinking water treatment: The water source of many water plants in our country comes from rivers, with high sediment and mineral content and relatively turbidity. Although it is filtered through sedimentation, it still cannot meet the requirements. Flocculants need to be added. 50, but the effect is several times that of inorganic flocculants. For rivers with serious organic pollution, inorganic flocculants can be used in conjunction with our company's cationic polyacrylamide to have a better effect.
  • Recovery of lost starch and distiller’s grains from starch plants and alcohol plants: Nowadays, wastewater from many starch plants contains a lot of starch. Anionic polyacrylamide is now added to flocculate and precipitate the starch particles, and then the sediment is filtered by a filter press to become cakes. It can be used as feed, and the alcohol in the alcohol plant can also be dehydrated by anionic polyacrylamide and recovered by filtration.


3. Nonionic polyacrylamide:

  • Sewage treatment agent: When the suspended sewage is acidic, it is more appropriate to use non-ionic polyacrylamide as a flocculant. This is the role of PAM as an adsorption bridging agent, which makes the suspended particles flocculate and settle to achieve the purpose of purifying sewage. It can also be used. For the purification of tap water, especially when used in conjunction with inorganic flocculants, it has the best effect in water treatment.
  • Textile industry auxiliaries: adding some chemicals can be formulated into chemical materials for textile sizing.
  • Sand prevention and sand fixation: Dissolve non-ionic polyacrylamide to a concentration of 0.3% and add a cross-linking agent, spray it on the desert to prevent sand and fix sand.
  • Soil moisturizer: used as a basic raw material for soil moisturizer and various modified polyacrylamides.





1. Flocculation: PAM can make suspended substances through electric neutralization, bridge adsorption, and flocculation.
2. Adhesion: it can play a role of adhesion through mechanical, physical and chemical actions.
3. Resistance reduction: PAM can effectively reduce the friction resistance of the fluid, and adding a small amount of PAM in water can reduce the resistance by 50-80%.
4. Thickening agent: PAM has thickening effect under neutral and acidic conditions, and PAM is easy to hydrolyze when PH value is over 5.When the structure is semi-reticular, the thickening will be more obvious.
