Soda Ash Light and Soda Ash Dense
According to the different densities, soda ash is mainly divided into soda ash light and soda ash dense. Their chemical composition is sodium carbonate, but their physical forms are different: the density of light soda ash is 500-600kg/m3, and it is a white crystalline powder; the density of soda ash dense is 1000-1200kg/m3, and it is white fine particles. Compared with soda ash light, soda ash heavy has large particles, high density, low moisture absorption, is not easy to agglomerate, is not easy to fly, and has good fluidity. In addition, there are also extra-light soda ash and extra-heavy soda ash, with densities of about 370kg/m3 and 1550-2553kg/m3 respectively.
Whether it is the synthetic alkali method or the natural alkali method, the soda ash produced is light alkali. Soda ash light is further processed to produce soda ash dense. At present, the mainstream processing techniques are hydration and extrusion. The hydration method is to add water to a light alkali to crystallize into sodium carbonate monohydrate, and then heat it to drive out the crystallization water. The resulting soda ash dense retains the crystalline form and has a denser structure than the light one. The extrusion method uses pure machinery to extrude sodai ash light into a thin and hard alkali cake between two rollers under high pressure, and then crushes the alkali cake to screen out the optimal particle size. The overly coarse particles are crushed again, and the overly fine particles are extruded again to produce sada ash dense.
Soda ash light is mainly used in the daily glass industry, detergent and food industries. Soda ash dense is mainly used in the production of flat glass. In the field of inorganic salts, these two are used according to different industries. Some downstream companies in the detergent and alumina industries can transform kilns and change feed materials according to the price changes of soda ash and caustic soda to reduce production costs.
